question about coupling

I couldn't figure out how to get em all in one post so sorry for hijacking the thread. Brick, if you want to make another thread about it cool with me bro.

 

It's like rack'n a shot gun... ya don't just push gently til ya hear it click. You put a little muscle behind it. Now having said that... common sense should prevail. a little bump's a good indication it's more than likely hooked, but slamming it hard time after time's obviously not good on the equipment. Believe it or not I can see both sides of this issue, but it's really much ado about nothing. I agree with those that say to simply obey the instructor/testers instructions. Go along to get along..

 

Look for grease built up in the rim and around the hub as well. If it looks liquid, check it, if it's greasy get it fixed! My hubby had a trailer recently that had a suspicious build up in one of the rims, called in, and the company had him take it in. Sure enough, the seal was blown, and the hub/bearings got replaced. The repair place was very near by. Hope that helps a bit more with that question.

 

Preciate ya' driver. That logger said he just heard a noise and all of a sudden he saw his wheel flying down the road. He's #### lucky the rear tires held up as am I as I was two trucks behind him and I felt a bit nervous with him standing on the right side of that trailer in case the remaining tires decided they weren't going to hold er up no more.

You know the funny thing, I was going to pass him but another big truck merged onto the highway in front of me so I backed off to make a little room for him as I knew I wouldn't be passing that independent flatbedder. Had I gone to pass the logger, I probably woulda been right beside him when those tires came off. I don't know what kinda damage it woulda done to my truck but I don't want to find out either.

I'm sure that four wheeler is counting their blessings and thank God they saw it coming at them in time to slow down and avoid it.
