He's probably going to have to apply with companies other than flatbed and companies that hire drivers with CPAP machine. Schneider hires drivers in that situation.

    I started out with Schneider.

    Stayed there almost 2 years.

I survived....then moved on to better gigs.

If I can do it -- I would offer that others can, as well.

He is applying at Schneider, Stevens Transport and Rhoel today. The all have positions with no experience required posted for Oklahoma. He no longer cares if it is flatbed or not, he needs work. He understands he has no experience and his options are are limited because of that, his auto restriction, and his cpap. If anyone has suggestions for companies he should look at please let us know. He has been working mostly fast food at 9-11$ an hour for the past two years so just about any trucking company is going to be a major jump in pay and work satisfaction. Thanks again.

95% of sleep apnea can be eliminated by simply losing weight and going to a net bodyweight Your body was naturally designed to hold. I know there are some cases of people who have apnea that are 110 pounds and all that but they are actually quite rare. Once you start down that path of CPAP and trying everything else under the sun, it never ends. And the results are always the same, gotta get the weight off if you want to get rid of sleep apnea. And yes, sleep apnea will kill you Faster than just about anything.
It’s a hard pill for many of us to accept in many Live in denial about it because they don’t want to face the harsh reality that they need to lose a massive amount of bodyweight. Eat meat, veggies and fruit for six months to a year, go for walks, drink water and your body will do what it’s supposed to.

There is flatbed duty at Roehl.

Also -- Schneider now has some flatbed accounts that are available -- depending on location.

With his weight, he may not be able to throw tarps or chains and straps.

Has he tried Maverick out of Little Rock Arkansas? He will have to ride with a trainer for a month but the training is second to none.

I started there ten years ago, of the 30 or so in my orientation class, all but two had no experience. About 15 made it through all the testing and securement training. They are pretty strict on there training requirements.

all auto fleet hauling mainly steel and building products. Most trucks are home on the weekend.

Apparently -- he needs the physical activity on some level -- to get rid of at least some of that weight.

Maybe Roehl's conestoga fleet mite do the trick?

    :dontknow:

His initial interest in flatbedding was due to the additional activity of tarping and chaining. That additional labor he viewed as needed additional physical activity/exercise to keep him from getting larger than he is with all the sitting involved in driving. He still wants to flatbed but he has reached the point now, after dicking around with Melton all this time, that he will take just about any trucking company and any kind of trucking type that will hire him and get him out on the road making money. He worked until late last night and says he applied at Schneider yesterday after work and is planning on applying at Stevens Transport and Roehl today.

I will tell him to add Maverick from Arkansas to his list of companies to look at. He is single and only 23 and looking to be out on the road making money. He don't care about being home on the weekends and family time right now at such a young age and there ain't nobody at home for him other than Mom and Dad and a couple friends anyways (he is NOT a social butterfly).

Maverick is an outstanding opportunity -- for the right kind of person.

I saw a Maverick conestoga rig just last nite -- parked at a truckstop in SE Alabama.

Flatbed can be very hard physical labor -- especially in very windy &/or frigid conditions.

CAUTION: Some flatbed carriers may want him to lose some weight -- before they accept him past their driver orientation process; others may not. Each carrier will obviously have different criteria & weight limits.
