    What are your plans once you have the permit? Driving for yourself or a trucking company?
    Some companies will have a list of dot clinics that they will accept. Company I lease to will not accept chiropractors or primary care physicians.
    Companies usually pay for the medical.

    Was planning on driving for a trucking company. I don't mind getting another DOT physical if that's what's required by the company.
