Supposedly the Dr. doesn’t look to see what meds you are currently on. They ask you what meds you take on the questionnaire. If you are involved in a serious accident and you medication records were subpoenaed it would be found out then.
-
what about medical records.
-
That I am not certain on, but they do ask you to self report on the questionnaire. I report everything on my medical record because they could be subpoenaed in worst case scenario.Last edited: May 4, 2026 at 9:11 AM
Tall Mike Thanks this. -
Depends on what you self report. I had a clot in Dec and listed it for the DOT physical. That required several more signatures from specialists and some recent records. On any forms they do not ask for medical records or access to them. At least Concentra did not ask.

Not that I've ever seen.
I don't volunteer anything either "no issues I feel great" is my standard answer. -
Where do you get your physicals? Also will trucking companies ask for a release for your medical records / prescriptions?
-
Ive never been asked for anything other than a DOT long form. Based on my personal experience a company will send you to a doctor that is approved to do DOT physicals. Thats if you need a physical as a new hire or if your physical is about to run out.

A lot of companies these days require a new physical from one of their doctors before you hire on. If you’re that concerned about what they ask and what they can find out then maybe this isn’t the job for you.
Speedy356 and Arctic_fox Thank this. -
They read what you write on your office paperwork.Tarabridge5482 Thanks this.
