I used to run to Laredo, Brownsville, Hidalgo, ft Worth, Bryan, Houston and all over Texas out of Kansas. I never seen no mountains in tx. The one thing about TX that I really liked (dunno if they still do this) is that whenever I got on a 2 lane road and would come up behind a four wheeler, about 90% of them would take to the shoulder and let me get on by. Only state in this nation that I've ever seen do this. That's respect for trucks right there.
Just the opposite in Colorado. If in a SMV and there are more than 5 vehicles behind you, you are strongly urged to pull over and let them pass.
I don’t know if you saw my earlier post. This route bypasses Nashville and Memphis, and is a really nice ride.
Nope. Don’t happen no more. To many transplants from other countries like california and new york down here now. We natives gave up with that courtesy because no one understands what to do when we do it. Just like the Tejas wave when you pass someone has gone to the history books.
Usually 200-250 bucks and a Uber fair. I hear they are not that expensive. Maybe buy a late breakfast.
That's the absolute truth. I used to pull over for faster moving traffic and always they waved back after they got around or stepped on their brakes to say thanks. Not anymore. The self entitled pricks have taken over!!
Sad to hear that cause that was really nice to be able to experience that. I would always honk my horn and flash my lights back to them. Tell ya one thing that will surely wake you up, is being on a two lane trying to make time about 70mph and have a big old turkey buzzard fly into your windshield! I about had to find a Walmart for some more boxers!
