Yeah, it's been that way for a long time I think. But does anybody do it? Skipped thru CO a couple times as well. My first time through though as a rookie, I thought I'd save some time and miles and take hwy 50 going west. Last time I ever did that again!

Not everywhere in the world is limited to 80k and 5 axles.

There’s a lot of stuff you could do right here in this country that would get you better rates than the load boards you fixate on.

You can if you want. The US probably has the lowest GVW in the developed world. Europe and Canada both let you haul more on the same number of axles.

Edit: Plus don't a lot of states let you exceed 80k if you stay off the interstates?

But then he wouldn’t have a reason to start his doom & gloom threads Plus Negative Nanny’s don’t seem to work out well in the business we thinking of

If people are flexible there are so many opportunities. I know 3 guys from NE who were out in SC hauling anhydrous for a month. I doubt they were excited about being gone but they probably grossed $10-12k a week out there. Now they can kick back until spring season starts in the Midwest.

I met a guy back in my flatbed days in MT. He got into a deal running in and out of Canada with a pneumatic. A few years ago they moved back to MO and he flies back and forth because what he does out west pays more than what he can find where he lives.

The more rigid someone is the more bleak their outlook becomes.
