There are much better antennas on the market. Like High Sierra, or Tarheel. Priced close to the Yaesu. And Hi Q is the best but more pricey. The 857 is a Great rig. 73 to you

not to throw the hijack switch but, has anybody ever used a CB antenna for 6 meters? I talked to a driver once that said if I remember right, that a certain model whip tuned very well for 6 Meters.

UNLIKELY that you can make a CB antenna work on 6 meters

    interesting....

Not sure how well it worked as far as distance is concerned because we were talking local but.......

When Scott had his TS-2k he was able to tune 6 using a Antron 99, when I had my 2k I could tune 6 on a Imax 2k...now with that being said the tuner on my Pro II would not tune 6 on the Imax..

6 was nice and really quiet, nobody around here uses 6 at all...

Using my R7 vertical vers a 52mhz A-99 ( yes someone made them back 25 years ago ) the A-99 52 mhz vert was 5 "S" units better that the R7 with tuner THEN tried my V-2000 with 6 meter radial kit it was 2 "S" units better that the 52mhz A-99.

Conditions on 6 are very poor and have been for several years we have a net here on 52.020 wends at 7:30 Eastern time That's most of what you hear right now on 6.
