Interesting....I ran a 102 on my truck for awhile....yes I did hit the bank canopy, yes I hit the Mc Donalds drive thru canopy....didn't do any damage. Never have hit any stop lights with it though. Have whacked a few tree branches but it didn't hurt anything.

I run a Larson NMO2/70 on a NMO mirror mount and it has held up well and works great

this message is for roadboy ve9fc. the best mobile antenna available is the Hiq antenna . there are several other brands, but none compare to the hiq antenna .
try www.hiqantennas.com, i have the hiq 5/160 , that just means its a 5 inch coil and it does all bands including 160 meters. but the 4/80 also works well, if your not intersted in the 160 band. also check out the hiq antenna reviews on eham.com -
Diamond and Comet make some of the best. Also Jetstream which is made by Diamond are really great at half the price. I run one and can hit repeaters 90-100 miles away.

Agree Jetstream makes a good low priced antenna

Diamond does not make Jetstream, they are both built by the same company at the same factory but packaged with different brand names.
