Do some loads pay more than others. For instance does a load of Toyota pay better than Honda.I know H&A pays % of load.I don't know if that is good or bad.I guess does a load pay enough to deadhead to the next plant.I know they pay mileage at USAl.They say .56 to .71.What determines the rate per mile

Some of our terminals pay 60 cpm and some 64 cpm. It's not really a brand thing it's more of a location thing. We're paid for all miles, loaded or empty so if you were deadheaded 1,000 miles then you would be getting paid. As far as dealers, it varies. One dealer may take from 8am to 5pm and one may be 7am to 9pm and then some allow night drop so you can deliver 24 7. Delivery hours are always on your BOL. As far as loading, you can pretty much load 24 7 at all terminals, it's up to you if you thing you can see them good enough to do a good inspection.

    Travisroland Thanks this.

I've noticed that car haulers are picking up at railheads.Does that mean the railroad has run all the miles off the load and those loads are local.Do railheads try to sneak damaged cars off on you.Do y'all find damage a lot or is it not an issue. When y'all go home do y'all go home under a load or empty

At the rail it just depends. Most deliver to a 3 or 4 state radius but then again we have one contract that some of the vehicles go 1,000 miles. Damages are probably a little bit higher at the rail than most plants but normally not too many.
Sometimes I go home with a load and sometimes I'm empty. It just depends on where I'm coming from when I pass by home.

I live in Ft Payne Al on I 59 South of Chattanooga.I quess I would be out of B'ham.Do you know what that terminals base CPM is.Would it be hard to get me home.Is there freight going my way.Do USAL haul anything out of the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga. The USAL site is saying .56 to .71 CPM is that base or with bonus, safety, fuel bonus added in to make the rate look higher than it is.Thanks

We have 3 locations in Birmingham and 2 in the Nashville area so I don't thing getting home would be a problem at all. I'm pretty sure all of those terminals are .60 cpm. You get .60 cpm plus $5 per car to load out of your home terminal, plus 5 for each stop. If you took a load out of AL to MS then you would get a back haul out of Canton MS. For this load you would get .64 cpm because canton is a .64 cpm terminal, plus you would get $22 per car since it's a back haul and also your $5 per stop

The variation on the cpm on the website is probably because after you've been here a year you get a driver score. If you score good then you get and additional 2cpm for all loads the next year, if you score really good then you get an additional 4cpm, if you score really good for more that one year in a row then you get an additional 6cpm

Do they keep their equipment up.I notice some have sleepers and some are daycabs. What determines which kind you will drive.Do you like one over the other. Can you make more with a sleeper vs daycab

Is that achievable,I mean what do you got to do.Never go home,no damage and so on.They say they have a bunk house I guess at a terminal. What is the purpose for that
