Well, I'm currently in PA.
These drivers have no idea how to merge in with traffic.
I am in the right lane, going speed limit (+/- 1), they are 'merging' in next to me - but a bit ahead of me.
I start to slow down to let them in, and what do they do?
Me, I would put my foot down a quarter of an inch and get ahead.
Them? They slow to a stop!
There is a serious lack of training in how to merge into traffic.
It's like they don't even see me until they are crossing the line - like, they don't even look at the traffic until they are already in the lane. -
I like to pop the jakes for a split second as my exhaust is next to there door. It makes them pay attention because its rather loud. Its strait piped with a 90* on the back pointed down about 1ft from the ground.

YIELD ???? ha, the majority of drivers 4 wheelers and truckers DO NOT know what that means....it is becoming more common for people to try and force their way on....in CA you are sup. to move over a lane for traffic getting on..i have never heard of getting a ticket either..unless like mentioned "no trucks"...which will be highly unlikely if you are in right lane and are only moving 1 over to the left. also the horn...well i use mine at times...but not usually at unyielding traffic, like was said, can scare somebody and make things worse....

i understand using the horn if i cant get over to wake them up if i have no other option, but i try to be courteous and move over if safe to do so, I had just never heard of getting a ticket..now i can understand if i get over and scmuck the poor guy riding next to me cause i didnt look..but had never heard it was illegal to just move over..anyway the homesick this was a temporary thing..I was tired and hungery and my brain was making me feel bad..lol

In TX and a few other states, "vehicles entering OR exiting a limited access roadway (e.g. freeway) have the right of way." I believe lane changes in heavy traffic, like backing, are inherently risky and should be avoided when possible. I prefer the second lane out if there are enough lanes so super trucker can pass without going to the #1 lane. Otherwise, it is a constant pedal game as people do the expected numbskull moves. On the other hand, I will change lanes for a big truck if I cannot lift and block the lane so he can get on.
