Most companies will only let you use a manual pallet jack with at least one wheel with flat spots or bad bearings. With Elogs the best route is to show 10 minutes checking in at the receiver then log sleeper berth until ready to leave.

The point is, getting unloaded is part of the job. Unless you happen to be in a drop 'n hook situation that means someone has to pull the freight off of the truck, restack it so it can be easily counted and (later) placed in the warehouse, and then count and check the freight against the manifest in your bills. Would you just blindly accept 20 tons of stuff, and assume its all there? We'd all like to be unloaded instantly, and head back down the road ten minutes later - but that's not reality.

When you're at the dock loading/unloading your best course of action is to do anything you have to, but most importantly get some sleep. Tired truckers make mistakes, and get into accidents.

just more the reason after you get a couple years experience under you try to finder a tanker job..not that all tanker jobs have no waiting but most will be way less waiting than pulling a box ..and most tanker outfits pay you while you are waiting..

I cut my teeth on foodgrade in 89-95...but was a dedicated hauler for 2 dairies, didnt have much waiting time....Im no expert on foodgrade tankers...I guess not all tanker work has little to no waiting...Ive been pulling a cryogenic tanker since 99...not much waiting in this bus.....have done gasoline and tar tankers back years ago and didnt have too much waiting there either ( normally)...

Welcome to trucking. You cannot use your certification on a dock you're not authorized to use. Also many customers have a strict rule that noone is allowed inside the plant. You'll just have to wait it out like the rest of us do.You'll get use to it.
