Sure, why not?! You have to start somewhere. I think its a much better opportunity than driving for one of the mega-carriers. It may take sometime to get used to but once you are comfortable with what you are doing you will probably be a very good driver. Logging can be very challenging but its not rocket science.

Thanks, im just worried about the off road driving, but like you said once I get used to it I should be fine. I just need away from schneider asap. I stay out 3 weeks at a time only to make 300 to 400 a week. And when I need home they can never get me home its always two to three days later

Hell from the adverts and craigslist ad's I'm seeing down there, they'll take you with a brainstem and a pulse as minimum requirements.

With boom buisnesses like that, so long as your not killing babies and are still insurable- you'll get a job.

Everybody around here seems to require experience. Been trying to get into it myself.

How can I get any experience if they won't hire me? Ask if they'll let you ride along for a few trips.

There are over 450,000 trucking companies in the US. Someone will give you a chance! You just have to keep trying. Not saying to lie, but talking yourself and embellishing can really help. A professional resume goes a long way too! Find a sample one on the internet and just copy and enter your info.
