Depends on what your mounting it on, and where...
The Single Coil 10K's tune the tallest, and will be the most resonant or efficient...The Dual Coiled 10K's are for those who want a shorter over-all antenna who have height restrictions to deal with...
Lower shaft lengths (the part of the antenna under the coil) are more of a personal preference thing...But the shorter shafts like 6", 9", and 12" are usually used when mounting on mirror brackets....
The 12" and 17" shafts work good for roof mounting.
And the 22" and 27" shafts usually are for those mounting the antenna down low on something like a bed rail or trunk lid and want to get the coil up over the roof line...
For as coax go's...Thats up to you...any coax will work with the Predators, but not included with the antenna's.

I have a question for jesse james or any other driver out there. Is the sw double coil predator much different than the single coil in comparison to performance?? I drive an 2004 pete height is somewhat of an issue. I like the sw double coil but i dont want to lose performance. Any suggestions? Would it be better to tilt the antenna? The 9 inch shaft doesnt get the coil above the roof so i would need the 12 shaft.

Not too much. Very little if set up correctly. Any of them not installed and tuned right are no better than some $15 fiberglass one. I work with a guy who has the double coil Predator with Connex 3300. Talks as well as anyone else we work with and better then most. Not sure of his length but both coils are above cab on 379 Pete. Did not tilt them like lots of drivers do.

JD, going to get a comp plus predator 10k,what would be the starting point for tuning, thanks

Not a good idea to start whacking off chunks of stinger before you hook up a SWR meter to see where your at. -
I suppose that thin aluminum would snap off at the base with the coil so high though. Total length 81 inches. -
I had put a 30 inch shaft on my new brownie antenna. Now SWR is way over a 3. With the stinger all the way down how tall should the antenna be from bottom to top? Thank you!!!

bored silly Thanks this.

If ita all across the 40 then there is another issue..
If its high 40 only then shorten it 1/4 " at a time and retest..If its high on 1 then lengthen it same amount and retest..
