Never had a problem when I left Prime several years ago. There are always gonna be some folks who have something negative to say and nothing positive. It's always "the company screwing them over...".

Boy!! No matter what u tell em they still hop on the ol Medicine show wagon and go to Prime. It must be the devil tempting them. You get what you pay for from Prime exxcept they deduct double and 1/2. That's half of nothin.

Is that your own personal experiance? If so, care to elaborate? Typically no one ever backs up these comments with any details from a personal experiance.... it's either silence or a "I heard... My friend..." etc.
I double check everything... Ive only had one pay problem that wasnt my mistake, and it was corrected right away because my FM forgot to credit some dead head miles.kingsson Thanks this. -
Well, "Passin' Thru" I started at Prime when I began trucking seven years ago. Treated me well, just had some family issues that made me stick with companies with which I could be home more. There are always gonna be whiners, for whom nothing can ever be their fault of course... like they ran the lease like a company driver instead of as a BUSINESS, or this, or that... Then there are the hard-working professionals who will make it work because they work, like U2, Sazook, and others on here. You are right, U2 - it will be "I heard" or "it happened to a friend of mine's cousin's nephew" or some such. Or they heard it a truck stop/whine bar. Prime was the best money I ever made trucking. Not that these other companies are bad - not at all - just the more you are home, the less you make. That is just the business. So... I am thinking of going back to my first company. Checking things out first is all. Talked to some Primes on the road and things were rough the first half of the year. Seem to be picking up now. I guess we just have to put up with the neggie masters as well as the good, professional input. Goes with the territory.

Thanks for passin thru our little thread. I've been with Prime for just over 4 months now. Had a fantastic training experience and just got my own truck. That's right, my training lasted 4 months, and that's after I already got my CDL. Got a trainer 2 days after orientation ended, so I didn't sit much. Prime doesn't throw you into the fire after 4 to 6 weeks like many other companies. The truck that was just assigned to me is very nice. Used, but nice. APU, lane departure warning, collision avoidence, etc. Lots of bells and whisles. Truck is in great shape, like most Prime trucks. I filled out my inspection report and was very detailed about it. Before I took the truck, the shop here at the terminal pretty much fixed anything that was reasonable before they let me take the truck for good. For example, the red dome light on the drivers side flickered a little bit. They fixed it. One of the latches for the bunk wasn't latching right. Fixed. They did a complete detail on my truck before they gave it to me. While I was waiting for those minor fixes to be done, I caught a movie in the theater we have at our terminal (Taken - good movie), watch the owner play some basketball on the full size basketball court we have, got some good food with my free meal ticket, and shot some pool. My truck was done long before I was finished having fun in our awesome terminal. I saw more than one paycheck over $900 while I was in training, and even more over $700. That's TRAINING pay! So I'm curious, when should I expect things to go downhill? Since it sounds like you know quite a bit about Prime, I'm interested to hear what you have "heard" and give me some advance warning. Thank you.

We discussed my previous work history... the guy who interviewed me had, like me, worked a little in the Real Estate appraisal industry.
We discussed my driving record and background report. He threw a few "wild pitches" at me... like "there is something on your report here that you didnt put down on your application, can you tell me what it is."
I told him I didnt have a clue, and that short of ME pulling up a background check on myself before I arrived I wouldnt know what he was refering to.
It delt with some parking tickets that were administrativly dismissed (long story short it was the citys fault)
I told him I had mentioned the other parking tickets on my application where my liscense had been suspended for non-payment (Virginia suspends your liscense for any fee/fine... be it library, taxes, or tickets if not paid on time) And that the report should show that all fines have been paid and that my liscense was in good standing with the state of Virginia
I described the nature of my job, and parking was a premium given the location and sometimes your late breaking away from the job to feed the meter... And explained the Admin dismisal because the tickets were atributed to me, but not to any vehicle I owned and based soley on my address they had on file at the time. (DMV and City computer foul up)
Anyway... the interviewer listened, and then told me it wasnt a big deal or even anything that would prevent them from hiring me... he just wanted to see how honest I was and how I handled a little "squeezing"
He told me you would be amazed at the things the background check finds and how dumb some people pretend to be when presented with the information... then they confess, which means they lied or omitted... I asked what happens if they dont confess or plausible explination, he said they are given the benifit of the doubt.... they still arent hired until they can provide documentation that the items in the report are false or back up their claim.
Pretty much if its not serious offenses and the applicant is up front about it, they dont have a problem... its when you try and hide it or lie about it is when they have a problem. -
Mine hardly spoke to me at all. Simply gave me some forms to sign, and gave me my temp. ID. Of course I don't have a sordid past like U2!
I grilled my recruiter for specific answers to some stuff that showed up that never involved me. Apparently everything was cleared up before my interview. -
I echo that, except the accusation of U2 having a sordid past...
It was really a formality to finalize paperwork, verify work history, etc. I am glad to be back at my Alma Mater. Now if I can get my APU fixed. I should have not picked a truck with a Rigmaster! Tripac is apparently much better. At least I only have to put up with it one year on this lease!
