The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, isn't just a good Clint Eastwood movie, but also covers some thing in this trucking life we lead.. One of which is the almighty Qaulcomm.
It can be used for convient and timely communication, as well as getting your ##### hung out to dry, or, even, in some instance, to cover your (ur in qaulcomease) #####.

I personally did not think any messages could be deleted, but I can not swear to that and I totally believe youI do know they can't delete your messages and any driver should not "call" the dispatcher or if you do send a message of such: I am going to take the load as you discussed with me on the phone because you need me to handle it. But DRIVERS this does not make it right on your part either. You are still guilty. Therfore I would type. No I will not take the load illegal because you need it there on time. I must take a 10 hour break (or whichever break you need).
Either way they are being read, but you must point it out to Safety Department to get any attention to the message or the dispatcher will have gotten away with another attempted "crime". -

Trust me, I deleted those goofballs messages all the time!Stupidest one I ever got I was sitting at a railroad track in Chicago. Train would stop, go, then back up.
BEEP. betr get moving hot LD have to make appt time. MY response, Should I wait till the train clears the track or go ahead and drive into it? (long silence) do the best u can.
Stupid back seat drivers, 3 States away at that!

Also a record of what time each message was sent, and it needs to match you logbook.
I've heard that the Qualcom also keeps satellite records of where you are at certain intervals.
So if you run illegally and have a serious accident, the Qualcom satelite records can be retrieved by the lawyers, proving you were driving illegally. It doesn't matter what your logbook says, that would only be an additional charge of falsifying.
Now if you get pulled over for speeding or overwieght at a scalehouse, a bogus logbook might work. But anything serious involving injuries and lots of money, you can bet someone's going to want to see those qualcom records. -
That's funnyI could imagine the silence on the other end. They was probably saying to someone else the freaken driver hasn't moved in 5 minutes, what the hell is he doing? Then you mention train and made him to be a fool

my trainer actually put in a message to weekend dispatch when we had a "hot load" they sent an ETA message to us he replied with "don't bother me now, got a hot load"

Aw, just tell them it will cool off by the time you get it there!

funny thing is, the envelope company was locked up tight when we arrived at 2AM
