When I quit, I put in a two week notice. I told them I wanted to continue to work for that two weeks. I continued to run until the last day. I turned in my truck. I received every bit of my pay. They did not even report that I had worked for them on my DAC. I had no entries what so ever. Of course, this was before all the recent changes.
I was coming back from an east coast run on my last load so I had to get authorization for the PA, OH and IN turnpikes which I did. I had never done that before and when I sent in the receipts for the comchecks I put the comcheck numbers in the authorization number column. It was a simple mistake that they could have easily taken care of. My FM said send me in the receipts and I'll take care of it so I mailed in the physical receipts and to date it has not been taken care of, almost a month later. I have sent in receipts for comchecks many times before and this is the first time they have ever said there was a problem with it, I'm sure it's just a coincidence it was on my last check...
My experience parallels Terry's. Gave 2 weeks notice, got by the house to clean out truck, and into terminal. No muss no fuss, no keeping back paychecks or reimbursements. Quite honestly the easiest parting of ways I've ever had with any employer, and no burnt bridges either I'd go back, too... But only as O/O, with my own truck and trailer.
Im only in my third week of training and just got a call from a local company...told me gross 750-1000 a week....and home everynight.....decisions decisions
I'd jump on it too. I left TMC after a few months cause I was only making $400 a week. So take it cause I doubt you'd make that or more at TMC, plus home every night.
Take it from guys that worked and are still working for TMC...Thats seriously a no brainer Sgt.....Call them today and tell em you'll take it before its GONE!!!
ya my only slight delemia is that i will be getting GI bill at TMC which is ruffly 1000 first 6 months.... So say an extra 250 a week..if i only clear 500 with tmc thats 750 with my benifit....or be home everynight for 750 maybe more...but also this local job could have a possibility of laying off after harvest into the winter months...they said they wont but.....who knows
Should I give tmc a 2 weeks notice some have said that you will get screwed if you do. If I live in KY where will I have to drop my truck off, I've heard I could drop it off at silver grove where they have a dedicated yard.
