Just give them the 2 week notice.
When you happen to be home, lighten up your junk.
Just carry your clothes and c.b. laptop.
That way you do not have much stuff to be unlding later when you turn the trk. in.

Im a ex-TMC driver and i let u know a couple of things because i turned in my truck the second week of Nov.
1. Make sure truck is clean just like u got because TMC will charge a detail fee of 250 dollars for detail. Do not leave anything in it beside what it came with.
2. If u live in Ky. it would be wise to turn in at Indy because its a shorter drive for i live in West TN. and i picked my truck up in Joplin and turned in at Indy not a biggie i had my wife come and pick me up because like some other driver posted Indy does not have a one way besides one and its OUTRAGEOUS!!! trust me on the rental car!!!
3. Do it smart Do it right like if someone was in ur truck u wouldnt want it returned to u nasty or dirty or tore all to pieces be mature about it.
4. Communicate with ur fleet manager on what u are doin and all will work out once u put in ur 2 weeks notice if have been a good driver for TMC they will do u right on all fronts i promise u but remember to be mature about it and if any question communicate with ur fleet manager
TMC has done some dirty things but all is fair in the trucking world and we all know that see there are disgrunted drivers out there and we have had our bad days but dont be a whine bag and cry all over the boardsand cb trashing each and every company u work for u know how it goes out here!
I know things are hard out here now but mantain a postive attitude and be faithful to whatever the Lord leads u to best of Luck!!!
This is that Red Headed Stranger steppin on have a good ride be safe and God Bless!!! -
Yes, make sure you return the truck clean. Hopefully, you rec'd it in the same condition.
#3: I'm not even going to address that. Return it in the same condition you rec'd it. NO EXCEPTIONS! To the location that they want it returned to.
#4: Yes, by all means, make sure your fleet mngr. knows what you intend to do. Two weeks Notice is the industry standard. I recommend you adhere to it. He/She should be your first point of contact, whether you intend to deliver the next couple of loads, or whatever you intend to do, work it out w/your fleet manager/driver mngr/whatever.
Just my 2 worth. -
My husband gave his 2 week notice, all went fine. He was given a bus ticket to come home on after dropping the truck. He had cleaned his things out the week before when he was home. He worked for TMC for 3 years, good company but things got pretty slow in the flatbedding world.

I had three different friends quit TMC. They all got treated different, the
first one gave a two week notice and spilled the beans that he was starting a new job. On what was going to be his last day he was in denver. He lives in pittsburg. The second guy was under a dispatched load from chicago to youngstown,oh he just drove to indy load n all and quit. He said they paid him his full amount for his final check with no problems. The third guy gave a two week notice turned his truck into indy(they wouldnt let him leave it at silvergrove were he lives)they kept his final paycheck and said his truck wasent clean enough when he turned it in. I dont know what to tell you. I guess if ur on pretty good terms with them put in a notice, if not clean it up n head to indy.?????? -
Should i give TMC my two week notice of leaving? i heard some bad rumors that they drop you the second they get the notice.

I dont tink anyone knows for sure. Just had another good friend quit, they called him when he was in NC and said your released, someone is comming to get the truck. Sad part is he lives in northern KY and was just by his house. He had to get his own rental car and get home? Who knows what to expect. Good luck!

I think every situation is different it depends on what mood there in. I turned my truck in at the Indy terminal it was late around 11:30pm I went into the shop talked to the guy at the desk he asked if my truck was clean and if all the equipment was in it. I said yes and yes he said ok I took my stuff out of the truck brought the keys back to the desk signed a paper got my copy and started heading back to MD. But they did keep my last check told me a bunch of crap why they kept it they just kept giving me the run around.
