Um, its not only 2 weeks, its 3, and ive heard a lot of good things from that school. And the hours dont matter. I havent heard anything about the "320 hrs" thing before. And ive done my research, they will hire students, and i would only be gone for 2-3 wks at a time. or every week im out i would have a day home. I already know i would have to go OTR for 6months to a year if i got hired by those companys.

My plans are to not go to roadmaster though, my neighbor knows a guy that will train me for $500 and my wifes friend has connections to a couple different local companies. So i think thats my best bet.

When I called companies to ask them if they would hire me as a student, ALL of them told me I needed to have 320 hours. Conway, CRST, Swift, US Xpress, Werner... but not only that but who wants to pay $6k when you can get BETTER training for $2k? Well that's the way I look at it anyway.

But I see you have a totally different plan, that sounds good, I wish you luck and God bless!

Hmmmm well when I was going through my refresher course at road master in Tulsa I saw swift, Werner, Stevens transport, covenant, and tmc recruiters all come in there wanting new student drivers with only 160 hours.

All those companies i have pre hires with and more, and thats with 160 hrs, but im not really impressed with all the trainers at roadmaster in tampa. Most of them dont even want to be there but they do have a few really good ones imo. Never went to a different school before i picked roadmaster so i dont have anything to compare it with but if you can get prehires and decent training for 2k then go for it because i kinda feel like i paid 5k for roadmaster to have a grown man sit next to me and thats about it lol. I know the real training will start when i get my cdl and go with my first company. I think most schools are just in the business to get you a cdl not to make a truck driver out of you so take it all with a grain of salt.
