Yeah well, I was driving since before 2004, so it's a forceful habbit. I log a 8 minute VI at the beginning of my shift and a 15 minute PTI at the end of the shift. There are a few states that actually require you to log a 15 minute PTI, Indiana is one of them. And the Tire Checks/Reefer Cheecks don't need to be logged on line 4, you can actually log them on line 1. Go off duty for 5 minutes and do a quick check of the tires.
YEAHHHH, now that you mention it I think they did say something like haz-mat loads and tankers still gotta do it, ... but ... there's a lot of things the government says we have to do, or we can't do, that I just simply don't pay no attention to.
seriously? i thought you of all people would say just the opposite i give a quick look at every unsealed load to make sure nothings gonna fall over and my pallet jack wont roll around..........cuz if something falls over, guess who gets to pick it up i do agree though, never break a seal on a loaded trailer......believe it or not there are a few places that seal emptys before you take them out of the yard.......these i do break right after i leave their yard
There's a couple of places that seal empties. First thing I do when I'm hooking them up is break that seal so I can look inside and see if the trailer is CLEAN inside. Especially at meat-receiving places. Any blood on the floor and that thing's gotta get washed out. Of course, if the trailer next to it is cleaner, that's the one I'm taking. A guard ain't got nothing to say if there's no seal on an empty trailer you're pulling out. I'll let them look inside to make sure I'm not stealing any of their illegal immigrant employees, but then I'm on my way.
ill tell you what, if you steal some of their illegal immigrant employees, put them in the trailer and bolt seal it, ill type up some BOL's on them....consignee: anywhere, mexico, with a big DO NOT RETURN TO SHIPPER in bold letters at the top ill pay you a dollar a mile
You gotta remember, I pull reefers. You can specify a temperature to keep them at, .. anywhere between 89 and minus 20. LOL
you could really cram some illegals in a 53 footer........dont worry about being overweight......when you hit the scales just tell them all to jump at the same time
