    RAT .....

Do you use 27 MHz for RC ? TRUE SS is many MHZ wide and would not fit in a 10 kHz CB channel but I can understand a FORM of SS or digital but most users of RC here are on 72 MHz and some illegal ones on 52.
Back in the 1970's I had a repeater on 52.55mhz in and 53.55mhz out one day we started getting interference that was tracked to a group on RC guys flying planes about 2 miles from the repeater site. I drove over to make sure that they were causing the problem and asked one of them what class of license he had .... He told me to get lost ....
I didn't even think it was worth the time to go any farther so I got on my 100 watt 6 meter fm rig and watch them trying to regain control of the planes every time I pushed the PTT switch ...... I also got the license plate info and turned it over to the FCC and they were never heard from again ....

72 MHz is widely used here but I don't know if it is still analog or digital my scanner does not go there ....

First lets raise the power on CB to 1,000 watts and allow VFO's what do you think would happen ? Yep everyone would go t 5,000 watts and modify the VFO's to go way out of band ..... HAMS really don't care how much power someone runs on CB or for that matter from 25.000 - 27.999 MHz it's not a HAM RADIO problem. I run UNDER 100 watts on all bands but 2 meters and I run 150 on that band.

CB power levels were set back 50 years ago and the only changes he FCC has talked about it to LOWER it to 2 watts but I don't see that happing that is a dead issue ..... Bootleggers’ ( freebanders) go back to the opening of the band in 1958 again no rule change would affect them ..... they will use 10 meters even if you opened up 1,000 chi’s to them laws are for the others.

The allowing of new modes like PSK-31 and skinny band FM would have the best chance of being passed they are effective and the FCC likes that kind of talk .....

Right now the FCC IF they were to revamp CB would be talking DIGITAL like D-Star not SS and D-Star is a loser they believe 2 watts or less would solve any problems ..... sadly no member if the FCC right now is a HAM they are all appointees ... not radio hobbiest ...

Last time I went down to the Meadows in CT (Rocky Hill/Wethersfield town line along the CT River) many of the Remote guys with the newer planes (larger scale) were using 2.4 Ghz.....the the lower frequency might be kinda dying there too. They did have a "club approved" lower freq...there are like 4 or 5 clubs running equipment in a couple miles stretch....they rent some space from the turf farms.... some of it truly amazing for RC stuff...some of it BIG.

SS on 2.4 ghz makes sence this is why I think allowing FM on the 27 mhz class c channels would work I cant see a 9 foot wip on a RC airplane ....
