I swear the world has gone paranoid
I was raised with common sense
just don't put yourself in places and predicaments that common sense isn't so common

if it smells like a fish it might be a fish

some people seem to think breathing is an excuse to get by in the world

If someone knocks on the sleeper, I stick my head out. They try to say something, I look annoyed and go back into the sleeper. If its legit, the average Good Samaritan will think, " this guy is an a hole" and leave. If they persist, get angry, pick up your phone and pretend to call the law. If they get angry, get the hell out of there, screw the elogs. Run to the next exit and call your company. Check your load.

Keep in mind that predatory animals always go after the sick and the defected, in our case, the defect is stupidity...

One's life is priceless. Violation of E-Logs will mean nothing if you are dead.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

They generally want to get you out of the truck to:

Rob you at gunpoint of your money

Beat you up and take your money

Kill you and take your money

South Side of Chicago,Miami area and L.A are some of the worse spots.

There's a name for the equation in the gun world. Basically, a bad guy can cover the car length in that time. You wouldn't think so,but it's true.

Body language covers a lot. If I'm in a "questionable" area, I do keep my eyes moving but my body language has me pegged as a hard ### looking for trouble. Predators will steer away from another predator, so if you can emulate a predator in bad areas you stand a better chance of sliding through unmolested.

If your 6ft and 300 lbs and described as "menacing" will That work? Of course if I'm walking the miniature Golden Doodle at the time, that may hurt my chances....I'm doomed I guess.. Lol.

depends, does the golden doodle have a spiked collar and a sign saying "BEWARE AIDS INFECTED" while drooling? If so, your still considered menacing.

The OP poses a valid question. I remember leaving a T/S at 4 am in N.M. and on the freeway on-ramp were two approximately 17 yr old girls hitchhiking, no luggage and looking very lost and tired. My first thought was this is a set-up. The area behind them was pitch black, easy fro accomplices to hide. Once you open your door, especially if parked, you're a sitting duck. I kept going, not willing to take a chance. The T/S was basically just feet away. (if they needed help). If I was going to hijack a load, that's how I would do it. Notify the driver he has a problem to get him out of the truck and then proceed to put him on "ice" and take the load.
