Hey, I am getting into trucking, and I wonder if ya'll can help me out.
I had a DUI about 10 years ago. I did all my stuff except that I had to pay 3 years of insurance surcharge. Anyway, before I got to the third year, I moved and changed my license.
Anyway I didn't pay the last year of the surcharge, forgot all about it.
When I went to renew my current license, they wouldn't let me until I cleared the surcharge with the former state, which I did.
Now is this considered a suspension?, as I was legally licensed in another state at the time and had turned in my licence in the first state. Other than the DUI my driving record is spotless, so will this be a big thing that can jack me up.
It is kinda worrying me, 'cause I don't want to get kicked out of orientation over something stupid like this.
Question about suspensions

Yeah it's a suspension.
You were denied or forced to give up your license for legal reasons. -
That is so CLASSIC!!!!
MikeeeeRoadmedic and George Zimmerman Thank this. -
Almost priceless.

?????????????
Must be nice to never have done anything wrong in your life (if that is what you meant). -
A DUI is a major infraction. But the way it is phrased implies the same severity as a parking ticket.
MikeeeeMNdriver Thanks this. -
I never said a DUI was nothing, but a 10 year old one is pretty much done with. I'm glad it fills your time to put down people tryin to get help, specially when you got nothing else to put in.
Anyway, do the companies put as much weight on a suspension due to not paying fines as they do a suspension from moving violations? Or do they just consider it a suspension, and you are jacked. I read about all kinds of people with all kinds of things worse than this, and they seem to be able to get a job.
