Hi I am a driver with swift. Been solo for around 4 months now and thinking about leaving for a company that pays better when I reach 6 months.

My question is does my 1 month training with a mentor count towards the 6 months of experience milestone? This is also when I started receiving paychecks and was officially employed federally as far as I know. Thank you.

I’m looking at some companies that pay .70 cpm but don’t really know how to find people’s opinion of them online. Swift is a cool company and I’m sure it’ll still be there if things go south.

If a company pays .70 cpm and hires people with 6 months exp you can pretty well.guarantee you wont see any miles.

Try to stick it out, unless things are terrible where you are. 2 years is the magic mark when you are worth something to the desirable companies.

Good luck with whatever you choose

Hmm that’s understandable. I’m looking at strong group USA. It says on their website 2700 avg miles starting 0.58 cpm. Not sure if they’re allowed to lie on their own website. Also you didn’t answer my question.

We've had many drivers leave Ozark chasing higher pay per mile and they struggled to make ends meet with no miles. They wound up coming right back.

They're known as the boomerang generation LOL

IMO I would stick it. Just because they offer more CPM doesn’t mean you will get more miles. For example. A driver might get $0.60 cpm at 1800 miles which is $1,080 but a driver at $0.43 cpm at 3,000 Miles is at $1,290. The grass is always greener on the other side. Stay where you at and put in that time. You have to look at your end goal. If you want to go local like especially like LTL like OD or FXF they don’t want someone that Job Hops. Now granted you have to make the best decision for you and your family but for the most part most of these companies are about the same. If you have a nice truck and a ok dispatcher and a decent check why leave that for something you know nothing about. Just my 2 cents.

    Samarquis Thanks this.
