Some employers in the past will verbally tell a recruiter that I was blacklisted in one state because it's legal for them to do it that way. But if they were too stupid and say that in writing and I get a hold of that copy then Indiana and I will have something to say about it with a chance at a golden payout worth a bunch of money against this one outfit.

This is one example of how my companies talk to recruiters that call. If they call at all. Provided that this company in question is within the last 10 years of my trucking to today's application. (Which is not, resulting in zero experience desipite late 80's to 2009 making for a interesting experience for a recruiter.) Half of the outfits are out of business entirely so the problems I have had with them literally are buried as well. There is no one left to contact that will reveal the real reason.

I offered you two thoughts in general from my own experiences. Recruiters are a necessary evil and require a little bit of story telling if they asked me what happened. And they will make calls to check on that little story that got me fired or whatever. At the end of the day I don't think I should be here talking about why I don't think too much about companies firing me when there are a thousand more ready to hire me the following week.

While it may or may not be legal to slam the ex employee, the fact is it happens all the time. Two employers talking to each other are going to say things about you that neither one will ever admit to saying.

if they gave inaccurate information its not likely you would ever know. companies HR depts in general are in cohoots with on another. its not like they are ever going to spill their guts to you about what was said. i dont have a very optimistic view on corporate non-sense. if you go on a job interview, no matter how badly your former employer treated you, you are not supposed to disclose any of that even if it is absolutely true, but it your former employers are basically allowed to say whatever they want about you. also there is often TWO sides to the story, usually you dont have an opportunity to defend your side.

i have a job now, that i am grateful and feel lucky that i was recently hired; but if had to go on interviews im not going to tell the truth about being let go, WHY i was let go, and the circumstances of my termination.

i lie through my teeth i was LAID OFF and DOWNSIZED. complete and total lies. the truth, the truth is so incredibly stupid they probably dont want to hear it NOR do they care.

i always wanted to pay someone to call my former employer. hey im (fictitious name) from such and such a business (pick a name out of the phone book) i was wondering what you could tell me about XYZ employee (me) and find out what nonsense is really coming from their mouths.

im tired of all of the double standards, including the TWO WEEK notice B.S.. an employer doesnt have to give you notice that they are terminating you, yet you are expected to leave a notice. i was fired without any type of warnings at all, but if i was leaving they would have expected at notice. why give them that? i think everyone should universally agree that the TWO WEEK notice is out of date. if everyone stopped doing it, it would put an end to that practice.

    double standards stink.

Understood. Friday's not a great "reaching out" day anyway....especially after a Holiday weekend. People wanna wrap stuff up, not open new cans, ya know?

True, be nice to get that bike situated first, anyway!! Keep me posted, bro~!

Half the issue with leaving before I wrap up my bike situation is I don have anyone that can ride it. Only me or my uncle can even ride and I don't trust my uncle with 2500$ of my money I trust him but I don't trust anyone that much.

And plus if my mom even knew how to ride bike would be crazy big for her. Physically and motor wise just big. It would be like handing a 10 year old the key to a built hyabusa haha

Universal won't take me becuase I don't have 1 year experiance and they need 1 year OR 6 months with a cdl mill certificate witch c1 won't give me even tho I passed their stuff with flying colors becuase I haven't paid swift off yet. I'm working on that part but they still won't give me that stupid piece of paper. Universal claims I have 9 months experience (not gunna argue there) but there insurence requires that stupid cert that they just won't give me. I'm still very very angry about that last part....

Not when the owner has 50k into it.... know this one guy in pa who built one. Things stupid fast. Everything was replaced with carbon fiber and redid the frame in chromoly tubing. He Dynoed the bike after his motor build and it was just shy of 300 hp..... things scary
