I started on mileage and would have made 20-25% more on %. I've had plenty of long runs too, but they generally pay better on % as well. I'll be switching to % in August I think, the reason % is so much better the first year is because your mileage pay is crap the first year. You start at $.30/cpm after six months that bump up to $.32/cpm. With decent mileage and OOR you will get an extra penny.

On the rider policy, riders must be 10 years old and up I believe and you have to have 90 days in your own truck before you are eligible to take on a rider. I have the form sitting in my e-mail just haven't had time to check it yet.

Also on rider policy, they have to be family and they charge you to have them in the truck. Not sure how much. Can't find my handbook to find out.

Is .30cpm starting pay for a treinee or everyone?
Does TMC still run a heavyhaul div? And is that also a choice of mileage/%?

$.30/cpm is starting pay for an inexperienced driver, not sure how much experience it takes to start higher. Trainees are paid $300/wk during the 5 week training period, I forgot what orientation pay is. They do OD loads but you have to have 6 months experience with the company before they will give you an OD load.

I've seen a lot of drivers with visible tattoos, I think there might be a rule but it doesn't really seem to be enforced. I know I saw a few guys at orientation with a lot of visible ink on their arms.

Trainees are paid $350/wk during the 5 week training period and $300/wk during the 2 week orientation.

    cplmac2 Thanks this.
