You'll never get back 14/11 splitting. At the end off 2 hrs off duty, your 14hr clock will basically begin at the end of your 8 hrs in the sleeper. Any time between the 2 breaks is subtracted from your 14.

Sounds complicated, but the qc makes it easy.

Edit- if you aren't going anywhere until 1700, I would be logging sleeper hoping to get a 2nd 8 hr break in, which I bbelieve should push back the end of your 14 by another 8 hrs. I'm not 100% sure of that because I don't think I've ever taken 2 8's back to back.

2nd edit - You don't have enough time to take 8 before you leave pick up. Your options as I see them are to a.) Pick up and get a little ways down the road and take a break, or b) take the 8 and pick up late.

Hopefully I'm reading your graph wrong some other guys will chome in.

If I'm reading that right you went off duty at 9:14. No way you can get 8 hours off before going for your 5 pm reload.

You'll have to shutdown by approx. 22:30 when your 14 runs out and then take a full 10 if you want to get back a full 11/14.

Hey driver, we're going to sit you all day and we'll get you a reload in the evening.

Just so you don't get too bored we'll get you to start your clock and take away options from you.

    We care about our drivers.

Seeing your graph I assume you're still sitting in the drop yard. Bobtail over to Mall of America or something since you're stuck there for the day.

Can't do anything about it now. If you're an early riser you can use the split to get moving a couple of hours earlier tomorrow. It won't get you where you're going any quicker and you'd then have to take a leisurely lunch break tomorrow.

You have some time to kill, you might want to read up on how the split works. It can be useful. A good read on it here. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...4839-8-2-split-explained-easy-understand.html

I have had occasion to do back to back 8 hour splits, and it just resets your 14(actually 22 with the 8 more in the sleeper) to the end of the first 8 hours on line 2. There are some more things interesting about split breaks, but it doesn't make it simpler. The reason was a lot of time between drops and needing to move a little ways and being able to do that legally.

Just an observation, but learn to say "no" to dispatch/operations because of things like this. All you have to say is it will screw up your off duty and rest and will start your 14 too soon to get anything else done.

So why not just PC to the area to have some lunch, and while you are there you just happen to do a lot check, or ask if they will pay for a cab. 1st rule of trucking Never do something unless you are being fairly compensated for it, unless you know for a fact they are going to make it up to you.
