First off I must say that I am so happy I joined this Forum -- Each one of you are so insightful and full of a wealth of information -- and why shouldn't you be this is your Profession, your livelihood and part of your lives each and every day. I appreciate all of your kind words an thank you for many offers of gratitude for my Hubby !! He is a good man and a great provider !! He was a Rockin Soldier and always does everything to be the BEST DAD even in his three deployments --He never let us down !! Just as I am sure each of you are to your families -- Wonderful Dad's, Husbands, Brothers and Significant others -- It takes a special man to be a Soldier -- Just as it takes a Special man to be a Road Warrior steadfastly driving coast to coast providing for your loved ones -- Thank you for your service as well !! My Hubby shared this message with me and a few others on another Social network New Years Eve -- It was a compelling message and I thought I would share it with you --
It's a new year. I was never big on resolutions, but I need to make a change for the new year. I have held a few jobs, granted none of them were great but I did them the best I could and became a valuable asset to those I have worked for. I guess something to be proud of. I have served my country. I am a veteran. I have served twice in Iraq and once in Afghanistan. I have seen almost every country in this world at its best and some at its worst thanks to the Army. Some I never wanted to see but none the less that is something to be proud of. I now work for the state as a corrections officer. I don't claim to be the best at it but I try. I know it serves the community. This year I will do what I can to improve my life by beginning a new career path. I will take the trades and experience the Army has taught me and find a good company to dedicate my energy and effort towards. In turn making me a better me and hopefully showing the company I am proud to represent them and work for them not only as a veteran but a dedicated driver too. Look out Kenny is back...lol
Chinatown -- I have been checking out all of these companies you listed for me and well -- Your Rock !! Thank you again -- Feeling inspired and cannot wait to MOVE and find my Hubby a company to get on board with --
Promatt -- Thank you kindly, Sir !! Thank you for the kind words and Tanker company info --
G/man -- I love Texas but have family in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia so we are trying to stay Eastern area if possible
Tonythetruckerdude -- We are ALL about a company in NC -- Sister lives in Greensboro Metro area -- Famous last words of Her " I am a Tarheel Born a Tarheel Bred and When I Did I Will Be a Tarheel Dead" so funny but something she says loudly and proudly -- Could you message me the name of the company you were referring too ?
SoCal -- Thank you Sir for the advice too --
As for His driving record -- It is Pristine !!! MVR reads no infractions -- One mark in 93 at 24 years of age and one ticket in 05 -- Those are the ONLY two incidents in 28 years of driving -- Pristine NCIC Check/ FBI background and TSA background Investigations -- Veteran and 110 % dependable & safety oriented -- So, once this Class A is in hand at the end of March along with the items he already has in place, TWIC Card, HAZMAT Endorsement -- I am hopeful He can " Do Somebody Proud" working for them -- Guess the only thing He needs to address before his completion of school is his Tanker Endorsement --
Sooooo Tickled and cannot wait to start a new chapter of our lives -- Stay Safe Each of You !!!![/FONT] -
I think that it is great that you want to stay close to family. Our families are very important. It can help having them near, especially when you have someone on the road. Most of the major carriers have at least one terminal in the southeast.

I know this was almost a year ago, but I'm curious as to your Husbands current situation. Did he ever get on with anyone? if so who? and did they accept his time as a Fueler as experience? I am in the same boat as your Husband. I am currently a Fueler(92F) in the Army and I plan on getting out. The only difference is I've had my Class A CDL and endorsements since 1999, so I won't have to go through schooling. Once again, I'm just curious, I have just over a year to go and would like to start planning now. Thanks!!
