I had a pcmiler 430 and in the course of trying to figure out why it was so crappy ran across people talking about the worldnav and how bad it was. I was not about to spend $700 to find out for myself.

oooohh yeah, about the world nav, i no 2 people who recently purshaced the world nav, contacted world nav and they shipped them the new updated computer chip and it supposedly works great, so from what i understand if you get the manual for your world nav and call the 800 number and give them your serial # on the back they will send you the new chip for free if you registered your unit, if not i think they will make u pay around $50.00 buck for it, which to me is a crock of crap considering the arm and a leg i payd for mine, $650.50 :biggrin_2553:
im calling them on monday to find out about this chip and ill let ya'll no about

Yeah, I can read a map and drive at the same time, as well as send a Q-com message. But, that's because I'm good at what I do. I don't get absorbed in reading it, I glance at it.:biggrin_25516:

Yeah, how can truck drivers keep their eyes on the road ahead of them, when they have to constantly check their mirrors, gauges, and monitor the traffic around them? How?
Always somebody wanting to stress things around here. I guess I should have stated that each and every driver has to constantly monitor the placement of their vehicle in their lane, as well as the traffic around them for ever changing traffic patterns, so they can avoid a dangerous situation by some smart alec who drives around with their head hung down while they read a book, or play with their computer that is sitting in their lap, or has their toes in the way.
Any driver who is constantly on guard, will pay close attention to those drivers who aren't paying attention. Whether said offending driver is in front of you, or about to sideswipe your vehicle as they are trying to pass by you because of their excess speed.

Or coming off one of those lovely well thought out entrance ramps in Illinois that have no yield signs. They will drive straight under your trailer without a second thought.

I t comes down to proper trip planning. I'VE done it before when I first started out but over the years i've learned a lot and I always plan my trips to the fullest.

How long did it take for you to pass this truck driver that was "all over the road?" Anything longer than 5 seconds then you too are a danger on the road.

If you see a dangerous driver, you should instantly do 2 things 1. blow by him 2. back off the throttle and let him die on his own. Sitting by an idiot while he thumbs through a road atlas isnt smart on your part. Resist the urge to be part of a rolling roadblock and put the pedal on the far right to the floor.

Don't allow one idiot to skew your opinion. This is fairly rare IMHO
