I've said it a million times but I'll say it once more. An automatic transmission has no god ###### business in a big horse.

Too many people didn't want to learn to drive stick and big companies wanted to put more booties in seats. And now you got guys like me turning them into junk metal on the downgrades.:biggrin::biggrin:

And of course when that's finalized, I might have to up my uppity pills and finally go through a nursing program like some people have been pestering me to!! Ugh. Both the schooling and the work environment alone in that field would make truck job hopping look like steady eddie work!!

Actually, when going downhill, regardless of the road/weather, you should always have an automatic in manual mode, it will hold the gear better and allow you to make decisions based on what is happening around you. II just went down Eisenhower on Tuesday in snow/ice (Yes, Welcome to Colorado in June), manual, 9th, no jakes, tapped the foot brake a few times, I was empty, even loaded I would have done the same, and have many times.

You don't need a/c, power steering, air assist clutch or an air ride suspension either

Remember driving a truck without power windows and the air powered windshield wipers. Then no satellite radios or cellphones. In a couple more years people will say remember when we had to shift gears manually.

I'm driving a 2018 truck while my 2020 is in the shop. This 2018 DT-12 does seem like it been beat on. It not as smooth at my 2020 truck. It also has some program when topping a hill. IPM it cut the power as you get to top and coast over the top of hill.

No power steering? Does one die? Sounds kind of death wishy for me. "THE WHEEL CANNOT MOVE CAPTAIN!! ABANDON SHIP!! FLEE, FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES!!"

If driver don't like the automatics. I read Tesla is getting ready to start making some of their electric truck. So no transmission to worry about. They are might actually get some truck out on the road !
