I think you need to revisit that belief. Normally radar systems in "moving" mode will be self contained. The unit reads the speed of the radar antenna in relation to fixed objects, then determines the speed of the target vehicle. It determines the target vehicle speed by determining the difference.
question for everyone?

How's it feel to want? -
Seriouly, how fast do you really to need to drive? I could understand being over 5-7 miles inside city limits where the speed limits change as you enter but you have to try and speed at 75 miler per hour. Set the cruise or get a speeding ticket.

Do you know where I-29 & I-90 intersect near Sioux Falls, SD? One night I was driving back from Cincinnati to Seattle in a rental car with some of my belongings. I hit I-90 around 0030 and set the cruise for 82. I just let her rip for about 4 or 5 hours until I got across the state around 0500 or so. That was some of the sweetest driving I ever did in my life. I really didn't see many cars. I drove from Cincinnati to Billings, MT straight through. 1,600 miles in about 24 hours. Arrived at the Holiday Inn in Billings around 0800, and didn't leave till the next day at check out time.
BTW, if I could solve all my problems by paying a $93 speeding ticket, I would gladly do it. It's not that big awh deal to me. I'm really very careful with my speed, but that night I was a little wound up--wont expand on that. -
You don't speed but you set your Cruise for 5 OVER the speed LIMIT?
Thats speeding! anything over the LIMIT is SPEEDING! It's a Limit not the minimum speed.

So much for the OP's question. Seems to have been hijacked by someone who does not have a basis in general mathematics and who is complaining about a ticket he or she earned fair and square.
Last time I checked, 82 is a larger number than 75. This general rule applies even in Wyoming. Therefore, if a vehicle is traveling at a rate of 82mph and the posted speed LIMIT is 75mph, the vehicle is speeding and the driver of said vehicle earns a friendly reminder from the local gendarmes to maintain the lawful rate of travel. Speeding is defined as exceeding the speed LIMIT, which in this case is 75mph.
Would someone please tell me whether I have found myself in an alternate existence wherein the numbers are upside down and I will age backwards? It would give me something to look forward....er....backward.....toward.
I'm curious, though, what the situation is with the OP. -
