Right. There is a paddle that you use to shift the gears at the RPMs that you want. No clutch- no worn out knee and tired leg too! Great in traffic!!
-
Auto trans have a switch on the paddle that allows you to shift in manual (better fuel milage that way) the cascadias we have unless they have changed the programming will shift out at 1500rpms every shift upshifting and will downshift every gear 10th to 5th. When climbing a hill that requires you to downshift (in manual) for optimum fuel milage, cancel the cruise control and keep your rpms betwn 1300--1500. Maximum torque is at 1500 rpms in these trucks. Yes you will be creeping up the hill, yes you will be passed by others climbing the hill, yes Maverick does not have triple digit trucks (unless you include a decimal point) 2. You deliver to the address your told to deliver to.Sometimes it's downtown, sometimes suburbs, sometimes the middle of a field where there is no town for miles. waits to get loaded vary 15 mins to my personal longest wait for a load, 23 hours. (logan Aluminum. Russellville, Ky). 4. I'd park the truck as close to the house as possible (eliminates the personal vehicular use to and from your truck if you park it at the NLR yard and have to drive to Hot Springs. 5 years with Maverick, US division, 1st year hung out 13x, 2nd year 9?, 3rd year 8, 4th year 7or8?, last year was 7x. You getting home depends on the freight available to do so. Like Ed says in the recruiting video, "sometimes, the road just doesn't go home"

No clutch pedal
-
or gear shift on the floor -
correct. Hands right up there by the wheel at all times, makes it ice and easy, and did I mention comfortable?
-
comfortable ?? I don't know yet still waiting to get mine !!
-
If you're in NLR for training you can get into any of the unassigned trucks and check them out, no one will mind. Don't start it or anything like that but you can get in and look around.
Just make absolutely sure it's an empty truck and not a driver that's just bobtailing, or it won't be a pleasant experience when you open the door lol. -
I've been looking inside the day cab and it looks very empty with no clutch pedal or gear shift lol.
