There are dry van companies that pay per mile that are paying more than that including their surcharge. So, if you factor in the fact that flatbed/open equipment has traditionally paid much better than dry van(as it should), I would deduce that you are underpaid. -
Yep, you are way underpaid. Are you running under your own authority? Intrastate or Interstate?
We have a small carrier (4 trucks) and over the past year we are averaging $1.75/loaded mile with 10% deadhead. That's with each truck averaging around 8,000 loaded miles each month.
