Question for flatbed owner operators...

    There are dry van companies that pay per mile that are paying more than that including their surcharge. So, if you factor in the fact that flatbed/open equipment has traditionally paid much better than dry van(as it should), I would deduce that you are underpaid.

    Yep, you are way underpaid. Are you running under your own authority? Intrastate or Interstate?

    We have a small carrier (4 trucks) and over the past year we are averaging $1.75/loaded mile with 10% deadhead. That's with each truck averaging around 8,000 loaded miles each month.
