Alot of former Catholics have also become Jehovah's Witnesses because there so disillusioned with the church , in fact if memory serves me correctly the Witnesses are the second biggest christian faith in Mexico !MexicoTrucker Thanks this.
-
You are correct Aussie. The ###### Testigos de Jehovah has invaded down here, door knocking and invading peoples privacy like they do in the US. At least until I put a 150 pound pit bull chained to the front of the house.

Tell you what guy! I've lived in Mexico for the past 16 years and have been trashing around Mexico for the past 40.
Fact is, the cartels control portions of the countries and the violence is between cartel factions and against the authorities. Certainly, there is collateral damage, sadly, increasing as the cartel leaders are brought down, killed or arrested.
However, it is not an old west style free fire zone as many would have you believe.
To answer the others gentlemen's question, ZERO truckers have been hijacked, robbed killed or otherwise compromised that I can find based on my daily reading of over a dozen Mexican news sources from around the country and from talking with contacts within the Mexican trucking community.
I make a trip at least twice a month from either the Rio Grande Valley or Laredo to my home in Monterrey without incident.
You come to Mexico, don't act like you're superior to people here, treat folks with respect and you won't have a problem.
4.5 million loads cross the US southern border a year under the NAFTA agreement. The company I work for has 100 or more trailers moving in and out of Mexico at any given time and we have never experienced a problem with the Mexican carrier partners we employee.
And the Mexican drivers as a whole would not tolerate a situation that put them in danger. Think back to the bridge blockades of a few years back where they shut down the commercial crossings in Laredo and Matamoros over the government rescinding the 20% fuel subsidiary.
I see no reason why some are spreading the hysteria and misinformation about what is happening in Mexico at the moment.
When the border is open, I don't see any American driver being forced, against his will to operate in that country. Most wouldn't pass the Mexican prequalifications in the first place, namely, being literate in Spanish. -
Only problem with that mate is a pit bull is not match against an angelMexicoTrucker Thanks this.
-
Do they believe in Angel's?
-
Yeah mate they beleive in angels and naturally if they are doing God's will would have protection from angels.
Oh by the way i do agree with your post regarding how we treat other people generally speaking if we are polite and well mannered we do get treated with respect , what i find interesting though is most americans as a rule are very well mannered ( compared to aussies anyway)
-
Aussie, I agree. It's a small but vocal minority that give the rest of Americans a bad name. Don't agree about Aussies though. They're pretty cool until they get a six pack of Fosters in them and then they think they can whup the world.
-
I disagree with you mate on that 1 slightly i think aussies are better mannered when there drunkMexicoTrucker Thanks this.

While in mexico, be cautious and aware of who's eyeballing you. Nothing good is expected when someone is eyeballing you.
