Yeah, I'm sure I'll do more short loads once Im picking my own loads and routing myself in the future. I can better manage my time if I have access to the full picture of where I'm going and where I'm picking up next, but right now I have to depend on someone else sending me my loads.

Running 600 miles in a normal day on an ELD is easy. Just not 7 in a row.

Besides, one of these days you're going to figure out that running refrigerated freight for a buck fiddy a mile isn't really all that bright...I hope.

The settlement doesn't have dates for the loads. So yes it is that hard as only way I have dates is to dig out all the hard copies..

    As for cities thats easy...

    Laurel, MD > Springfield, MO
    Springfield, MO > Ochelata, OK
Joplin, MO > Casa Grande, AZ
    Buckeye, AZ > Roswell, NM

The daily uncertainty will drive you nuts.Meanwhile you’re expected to be ready and available. Dispatchers become more of a problem than help. Best just get Authority and make own desisions. If you can operate like you’ve been doing, it will be a breeze.

I’m confused. Why are these rates y’all are mentioning so low? I usually do 200 or less mile runs out of South Carolina. I usually shoot for $3+ a mile. Is it a big difference between having your own authority versus leasing on to someone?

That’s another thing I don’t understand. If you have your own truck why lease on to somebody and make 50% less per mile than having your own authority? I asked because I went straight for the authority and never leased on. I just don’t understand the logic.

I think a lot of guys don't understand all the paperwork and documents you have to file and I think they are afraid that more cost will eat them up... and they will if you don't stay on top of it

True but I think it sounds more scary than it actually is. Especially after that first year
