Don't jump the gun. I've seen brand new trucks straight from the factory with only a few hundred miles being sent to the shop repeatedly with problems and even saw one that had so many problems that the manufacture had to get with Cummins because of a bad motor (yes brand new) and had to be replaced, so new or used, it's still a gamble. Good thing is was under warranty. Bad thing is the driver lost a good deal of pay because he spent more time in the shop than he did rolling and almost left the company. The way I see it, the older the truck the cheaper especially pre-computer trucks as chip's, sensor's and software is higher in price and mechanic book time is higher. Gotta becareful and watch what you do buying a truck with a warranty because like company trucks installing inverters yourself will void warranty statues. Thats why alot of companies won't allow you to do so in case you mess up and fry the whole system from a short. One thing some O/O's don't realize with a warranty is the power train warranty. Includes engine, tranny and drive line but excludes turbo, and fuel injectors. Turbos run around $4K a pop (I'm sorry if you have a twin turbo cat) and fuel injectors run around $600 a pop. All depends on how smart you are and know what your looking at when you buy a truck, not just because of what make model and how nice it looks. A brand new truck isn't alway's the answer.

I totally agree. As people have told me it's not a matter of if but when something in a truck breaks. I am basically doing everything I can before actually purchasing the truck to make sure that I am as informed as possible for exactly what I need in the truck to at least make the likelihood of having trouble in the beginning less.

Also as far as additions and everything. I have been told that the truck can be custom built with everything I want in it and on it so I won't really have to do any installing. Now I have no idea if doing that voids a warranty didn't even ask that.
