Check serpentine belt may be slippingRyan S2016 Thanks this.

If you have hydra boost ( and you should on that truck ) the power steering pump can't flow enough at or near idle to supply braking assist and power steering assist at the same time.

I do in fact have it on my truck, but is there a solution to the issue or is it back to the dealer to spend $$$ for them to just look at it?
-
Sorry but I don't know of any fix for it.
But I have witnessed the very problem you are dealing with. -
As much as I like the newer trucks and the technology in them as well as their driving ability, it does seem to me drivers with older trucks and high mileage trucks are beginning to sound more credible with their lack of issues such as these. I guess ya gotta take the good with the bad in everything.. I appreciate the reply.

Apart from finding a higher flow pump I think you're out of luck.
Ryan S2016 and wore out Thank this. -
That's something to consider, may not fully eliminate the issue but may lessen it's effects

Or rev the motor a little when backing. If 4wd put it in lo-range. If manual trans, push the clutch when turning, if possible.
