Im intra state owner op. I dont leave Ohio. I use a combination of hopper, flat bed with sides, and van trailer. When there is good paying work I work. And that mean just that. Days, nights, weekends. I can be selective but it can effect you at end of month. Long time truck tech too. So in slow times I can make some money wrenching on anything, trucks, cars, farm machinery. Actually spent 1 week and a half this summer with a buddys construction company. He needed a extra guy and I didnt have much going on. But I swear them shingles were lighter at 18 then at 37 years old. They had all to laddered to second floor. No room for boom truck. It was fun. But made climbing back in the truck Monday look like a dream vaction. Lol good luck, you can make this work however you choose.
