Old trucks aren’t expensive to keep up, unless you need a bushing for your a/c compressor mount. Bought this today at Peterbilt, only $84.00, went home and checked online and it was $3 more. The other part of the mount was $300.
I’ll keep my truck and pay to keep it up.

Connect a hose to the tube and run it upside the hood. Drive it down the highway and see the blowby.

    probably cheaper and faster.

You Paid $84 for a 1/2 inch by 3/4 split roll pin...Find nearest bolt/fastener supply place and get it one (may have to hacksaw to length) for under $10..LOL

That's pretty good. I usually find parts way cheaper at Advance Auto parts or Napa than at Kenworth. I replaced both belts, the tensioner and the idler pulley on my truck. KW wanted close to $800 for the parts and I got them at Advance for $350.

I'm not sure how old trucks are wired up but my window wouldn't roll back up and it's the relay module on the door that's bad. Not sure why they put this part on the truck in the first place but the part is $550 at KW but online I found it for $400. If I was inclined to do so I could buy a relay from Amazon and replace the bad relay inside the box but I'm not that good with that type of electrical work.

Do belts from auto stores last as long?

I've never seen a car belt go 100k miles.

If it's made for the application I don't see purchase location having anything to do with it. But we'll see how long mine lasts.

Belts on my car have 86k on them currently. They might go 100k.

I buy my belts at Napa. They seem to do fine. However as a whole, as of late, the kw dealer is on par with Napa for pricing. They were actually cheaper on a few occasions.

You might check advance auto parts also. Most of the stuff I get from them has to be ordered but I try to get things ahead of time so I can wait for it. They're usually a little cheaper than Napa. The difference isn't a lot though. I'm getting my radiator hoses from Napa today. When I was price checking the hoses, advance was $7 cheaper than Napa for the rubber hose. I'm getting the silicone house though, and I didn't check the price at Advance cause Napa has it in stock and advance probably wouldn't. My KW is about $20 higher for the silicone hose and a lot farther away.

I don't even have the option really. Napa is the only parts store for 1.5 hours in any direction. Now, if I go to kw, which is on the big town, they might have on there. Where I live though, Napa is the only game in town...lol

Edit: I know that most dealers are independent from one another. However, i wonder how much Lee way they have in pricing from each other.
