    could also on the call, indicate they need to summarize and send via satellite the agreed to "plan." that way it is logged in to CYA. Then don't move till they do it. As an alternate.

    Nothing about OTR is typical. Even if you have a dedicated gig things can change from day to day. The only guarantee you have is that if you make a Dr. or other appointment well in advance, wait and see what happens, things will change and you will be 1000 miles away from home instead of at that appointment.

    If the you pick company does a lot of northeast make sure they have some sort of min pay guarantee. I run a lot of jersey freight. Usually 350-400mi a day out n back and that traffic can really eat up your clock.

    Start studying up on trip planning. If you get an idea now you'll already be a step ahead of everyone else. Like where i go to Bayonne NJ they don't start receiving until 830am. You have to get down by 6:45 at the latest or the traffic at the toll booths can be insane, 1hr + just to go a few miles. And if someone throws a shoe on 80 or 287 or 78 there goes your good day.
