He should notify the company he's quitting and offer to pay for the plane ticket.

What if he didn't have an emergency? Maybe the emergency was an alibi to get home.... homesickness is real my friends.

Perhaps a bad experience at Chester's caused him to say, "This trucking ish is for the birds."

That means nothing. If you both quit, you both hang together.

This industry does not tolerate quitters. You will find that you might spend some time get hired again and quit again? That's it it will be years before you get another trucking job.

I am writing in generic form. My personal opinion or feelings do not matter here sometimes. Drugs is another item this industry does not tolerate among thieves and so on.

You probably can expect the company to iniltilate collections for that air money. A emergency at home then quit? HA Likely story.

What's the REAL story huh? No one quits without something going on leading up to the I quit.

Because you both quit, forget unemployment and your DAC's and so on will be stamped quit. And that's just a beginning of what's possible. For example one company has me black listed because Maryland ruled in my favor against them in Indiana. I got all of my back pay, all of the state unemployment and so on. Mountains of money. I quit for a specific reason which was already existing before in our state's then case history for comparison when the tele court got the conference trial over phone going under oath with everyone.

Your “friend” sounds like a real stand-up guy. And after completely taking advantage of their generosity by wasting the company’s time and money, your “friend” certainly can expect something not so nice from them...
