Question on axel weights on trucks

    The answer is NO.

    No matter how the states allow you to disperse the weight according to bridge laws and individual axle weights. The max is still 80,000lb gross
    (.Unless you are running heavy haul out west.)

    Your not going to be loading anywhere near 38k on the drives but spreading it out over the whole combination. Which is typically 12,000-34,000-34,000.

    You're referring to the rating of your drive axles, I take it?

    That matters not, because on non-permit loads you won't be allowed to have more than 34k on your drive axles, or any tandem axle. Some trailers, however, have the axles spread apart which allows for more legal axle weight, depending on the distance of the spread. 10' of spread will allow 40k on trailer axles.
