I know but you know how companies are, their trks their rules and they will fire drivers if they break the policies.I had a few inverters with smaller companies. But these megas, some drivers do know how to install inverters but companies cant bend the rules.

You mean high wattage, they are all 12 or 24 volts. (most 12)

If your gonna guess at proper wire gauge, you probably shouldn't install yourself. Also copper wire can carry more juice then other metals for the same gauge. Having a wrong size wire will over heat the insulation and potentially melt it. Then you have bare wire that can short on anything. A fuse MAY save you, but not if the wire will melt first.

Everyone thinks 1000 watt space heaters are dangerous. What about 2000 watts going through under sized wire. That wire will heat right up like the heater elements do.

Another easy way to run all your stuff id buy multiple cigerettel lighter inverters and plug them into different circuits (one in sleeper, one on dash) Plug tv into one, ps3 into another.

The lighter plug units are limited to the wattage, minus losses, of what the plug can carry, which is approximately 15 amps, intermittently, less continuously. 12 x 15 is 180watts, so the small, 175 watt units are about maxing the outlet.

That is somewhat less then 300 watts, the way to get 400 watts out of a 400 or even 300 is to hook it to the battery or a different source of fused 12VDC current not using a plug.Plugs will also vibrate out of the socket, make a bad connection, and melt.

There is some loss, less with square wave, and progressively more to true sine wave, most of what you see in the stores are modified sine wave. They also produce noise, which your CB or AM radio can pick up. There are differences in this, and you will figure out soon if something is causing a problem.

I'd be more concerned about what's being loaded/unloaded onto my wagon, counting it on/off, checking condition etc. than playing video games in the sleeper. How does one explain to OSD a 10 case shortage if that person didn't count it on/off ? More sage advice from Uncle "Allow Me". Driver is responsible for his freight ! :laughing-guffaw:

If you pick a company that equips their trucks with ThermoKing Tri-PAC APUs, they come with a hard wired 1800 watt inverter. And the Tri-PAC has an alternator so it will automatically start up and charge the batteries whenever they get low.
