Larry minn,i have a tire monitor system for 3 years now.
No blowouts, lots off times noticing a tyre where the pressure went down very slowly.
Found something in those tires every time.
I will never run a truck or trailer without it again.:biggrin_25514:

Not true...Just take a 2 inch strap and winch the bad tire up and all the weight will go on the other one on that side. Its enough to limp. (literally lol) I've never had a blow out on singles and have had several on duels.

I blew a trailer tire last week. I slowed down and continued driving the 2 miles up the road to the next exit, found an old out-of-business gas station and pulled into their lot to wait for the tire shop to bring me another tire.

The road service guy thanked me.

Believe it or not, they don't like changing tires on the side of the highway with traffic zipping past them at 70+ mph only inches from their backside. They want to go home at the end of their shift just like anybody else. Personally, the fuel savings I might see or the extra freight capacity I might gain due to the lower tare weight just doesn't justify the dangerous situation that might arise in the event of a tire failure. I just can't put a price on another person's life like that. I'll keep my duals, even if they are a little heavier and less fuel efficient.

If you're loaded, you'd be well in excess of the strap's WLL...and you'd be pretty darn close to it's break strength IF you were using a new one.

If your drives are 34,000 and you have 4 tires that's 8500 pounds/tire. Wrap a strap rated at 3200 around 3 or 4 times and you will have enough.
