    that's becuase your truck is already registered.

    they DO stop you. as i have been once stopped and told it was a $450 fine if i didn't have it by the time i hit the next scale. so, they apparently check.
    why that particular company i was running with didn't have it is beyond me. cuz they run that 84 - 82 into washington all the time. they always had to buy trip permits and that route was $67 every time.

    i spent a whole year with that company before they finally got smart about new mexico account. to which it was $8 to add each truck. they haul rebar into albuquerque every week.
