I believe theres a rule for farmers of a 150 mile radius for non CDL holders. DOT is anothe rquestion tho. Do you have a CDL?

Seriously I would call some of the states you plan to drive thru DOT division and ask them. Its a gray area and opinions will vary.

Not sure what canada will require but if you are hauling your own stuff and not hauling someone elses stuff for a profit all you should need is a dot number I believe. For example if you haul your john deere tractor you own from your farm in canada down to your farm in arizona and return to canada empty to get your grain drills all you should need is a dot number I believe.

Go the senic route and see some of the country
skinnytrucker Thanks this. -
Good luck with your move. I would contact the states you intend to run in like previously suggested.
Are you going to get legal status and work? Most of Arizona is the new Florida for the snowbirds. -
Thanks everyone for the help. We dont' have a cdl but will work on getting a DOT.
