I'm glad you guys had such a good experience. 90 is a pretty hefty number. In my case, I got a 5.3. Essentially, just barely positive. I haven't noticed a change, but I also know I can "cure" mine if I lost some more weight. (Lost 5lbs so far, aiming for around 30-40lbs total.)

Hey, a good night's rest is great! Helps everyone get up easier in the morning! ;D

Well I can see where in this thread, some of you guys are giving others "numbers". I have no idea as to what they mean, but I can appreciate all of you do. To the poster saying since it was a tv commercial, they want to sell you something. True, other wise why have ads, right?
I just found that commercial to be unbelievable that it is "recommended" you replace the mask every 6 months. I would think too that the bacteria can be destroyed with a good high quality cleaner, but as stated by someone else too, the bacteria can mutate.
I also find it galling that a company will pretty force someone to get a sleep test. If your respective employers pay for it, then i am happy for all of you. But for those of you that have to pay for your own testing? Does your company reimburse you later?
Again, thanks in advance, you people are educating me, and I am sure a few others!
I am lucky I need no such testing, and hope to make it a couple of more years, before I chuck the CDL in the waste basket. -
Well. SNI forced it on me. I'm not happy. But, I'll make for #### sure they'll pay for my re-test when I pass it. And then leave once I know it's cleared from my medical card.
Depending upon which test you take, the sleep study can range from 900-5000$. -
Again, I'm glad I don't need a sleep study, I do feel badly for those of you that are forced into it or are told it's the law, which it is not. But companies can I guess make someone take it (as they did to you), or else hit the road. Must feel nice that they think they own your livelihood in their hands.

my machine manufacturer suggests cleaning the mask daily.
I can see why, the oils from your face can prevent the best seal every day. I'll use all parts til I feel its time for a change.
One night without using it tells me why I should use it. As for longevity in general, someone stated it all depends on how well you take care of the unit itself. Well built but can be delicate as anything these days. -
further with SNI they pay for everything. No out of pocket costs to the driver or potential driver. Every 6 months like clockwork to the day I get a package with new supplies of "expendables" mask, head strap, tube, seals, humidifier reservoir . For me right before I have to take my med recert I dload the data send it off to the company SNI contracts with for monitoring/supplies and within a couple days I get a emailed letter of compliance and enough recent data to satisfy the Doc.Last edited: Feb 4, 2015
G.Anthony Thanks this. -
Well you certainly are lucky the company pays, good for you,,and any others here where the company pays!
-
The matter of whether or not they pay *may* come down to a legal thing. I'm uncertain of this, but my understanding is that if a company requires something that costs money in order to retain employment they are required to pay at least some of that cost.
