For the night driving, just about any trucking venue requires driving at night. Certain jobs are night specific, like fuel tankers, or peddle runs, but current regulations prohibit running "round the clock", so you may not do many night runs. To be honest, you probably couldn't have picked a worse time for a troubled industry and with seemingly good companies failing, I'm not sure who is going to survive this mess.

I look at expense to income ratio. healthy company will be in the 80% to 90% and financial strain above 95%. I would take all quarterly reports 22-26 and see what the historical ratios are. For instance JBH 1st qrtr 2026 is around 93% while Heartland is like 102%
