I had 2 contracts with verizon and had good signal except every now and then. I got tired of them doing stupid stuff that is why I left them. I would call my wife on a verizon to verizon from the same state and they would say roaming charges will be added to your call.:biggrin_2556: I had a nation wide service.:biggrin_25513: After a bunch of stupidness from their part. I went to cingular which was better till AT&T took over. If verizon had roll over minutes and would not bill me for stuff that they should not bill me for I would reconsider them. My wife paid the last bill with them and we still had plenty of minutes left when she paid it. We switched carriers and my wife wanted the same number. Verizon billed us an additional 100 bucks for breaking the contract. I called and told them we paid the last bill off, but since we still had a week or two left with them, even tho we already paid the bill in advance they nailed us. Two contracts back to back with 2 phones and they dump on us like that. I hope they go belly up!:biggrin_25520:

I got a bundle from AT&T To get online cost me 40 bucks a month unlimited on the road, but we have 3 cells and the aircard and the home tx. Without all of that it would be about 70 bucks a month.

Not real sure what verizon is--but if im not mistaken last time i checked on it--its gonna be an additional $60 per month . Imma have to recheck it out. I used to use the truck stop internet--but most times it sucked unless you were close. So, as i get prepared to go back on the road--i will need to invest in my internet! :biggrin_2559:

I feel the same way about Sprint that you do with Verizon, Monkey boy. They were always slapping me with roaming charges and shutting my service off for being over my spending limit. Even though they supposedly have the fastest broadband card, I'll never use it.

I'll have to settle for AT&T's card once I get one.

I had problems with the 1st one. The one that goes into the usb port. Took it back and got the other one that slips in the side and it works great.

I use the ATT. But one night, I chose to stop a little sooner. My phone had 5 bars and showed ATT. Seemed like a good place to stop. Went to log on the computer and it showed I was roaming and not allowed. Called ATT and found no local tower. Would have to go 15 miles up the road.

    Well Momma

I took your advice after a friend got me a good deal at Sprint. I hope I didnt make a mistake though. According to Maps it looks like Verizon has the widest coverage followed by AT@T. Sprint coverage looks skimpy especially in the West.

I dont know what Id do without an internet connection. This summer a storm knocked out the electricity. I can live without the A.C but I cant go any longer than a half day without the yahoo ............

Sprint has an EVDO roaming agreement with Alltel . So that should help your coverage out west.

To Ladytrucker I believe Verizons offer included no-roaming nationwide coverage all for 60.00.

As Roadmedice stated he had 5 bars for his cellphone but was unable to get online this is why; The ATT rep told me they had 2 different types of towers, 1 that supports voice as in cell phone and some that support data bursts as in internet access. I found this to be true as I have 4 cell phones through ATT for the past 8 years or so. I got the whole family their own cell phone and that is primarily my reason for having my laptops specced with ATT's broadband aircard.

I too enjoy the rollover minutes feature offered by ATT formerly Cingular and prior to that ATT (lol) I have been with ATT since the start of all this merger stuff.

Having said that I will be looking real hard at switching to Verizons family plan mainly due to a lack of coverage at my home residence. I live in a valley and my ATT cellphone wont work but neighbors that visit can in fact use their phone while at my home so go figure.

Also Verizon claims a partnership with VODAPHONE for coverage. Never heard of them before though.
