    Other than Con-Way are there any other schools that will pay you while in school before orientation and going out with the instructor?

    I stalled in an intersection just like you did during my test. But because I recovered quickly no points were taken off. You must have done something to piss off the examiner?! Just kidding!

    Getting your license on your own is a really bad idea. Nowadays just about every company out there requires that you have attended some kind of accredited schooling for a certain amount of hours. This is dictated by the insurance companies.

    Not doing so could really hamper your job search and could ultimately cost you a lot more time and money. If Covenant is willing to work with you then I would take that opportunity.

    Sometimes it take a lot more practice for some people to catch on. There is also the fact of this career just may not be for you. That's your decision though. If you think you just need a little more time then do so. If you think you won't ever catch on or that this will be something that you will continually struggle with then maybe you shouldn't waste any more time and money. Only you can make that decision.

    Keep in mind that these schools are there to just get your license and prepare you to go with a trainer. You are not a professional driver once you graduate. It may just take you a good couple of months in the real world with a trainer to pick up the skills.

    Jenn: Once I stalled at intersection I got it started and it stalled again. So, I dont know.

    Chompi: Yeah I have been thinking about that. I am going to give it one more shot at school to see what happens. The county is going to pay for it. I can't give up without trying one more time. I know it is going to take a while to become a true professional. I mean after all Rome was not built in a day. However, I can't live with myself if I don't try one more time to get this. Like I said it was just small piddly things that cost me. I can shift fine, I can back up fine. I was just having issues taking off. If I don't get my cdl this time I will find a way to be a dispatcher or something like that in the industry. Thanks for all the advice.

    Thanks jenn....acutally I am enrolled in another school to give it a shot. This time it is a private school so I hope that I will get alot more practice. I was so close last time, that with the 5 weeks of this school, it should put me over the top and on my way to getting my cdl and actually choosing the company I want to work for.     If you are interested in dispatching or brokering do a few searches online. There is a lot of info about online schooling and courses that you can take to learn the biz.
