Thanks for the fast reply MustangGT. I am really nervous but I guess that is normal. Did I read where you had to room with another driver while you were in Cookville? I went ahead and told my boss what was going on and he was cool with it as long as I give a notice before I leave. I am currently with a small company that only has 10 trucks or so and the freight has dropped off tremendously here. I just explained with a wife and two kids I need something steady and we need insurance. I wanted to wait a few more weeks so I would have my year in but with the way things are I have to get the ball rolling now. I will have to go with a trainer for three weeks but hey I can put up with that to support my family. The 600 weekly training pay is more than I brought home this week which is the main reason I decided not to wait any longer and go ahead and do it.

That's pretty decent training pay, compared to most I've heard about.
And, yes I did have a room mate in orientation.

Well my interview went well and am now waiting for the recruiter to finish with whatever she has to do and then call me back and hopefully offer me a job. But the funniest thing happened to me. On the way to the interview I was offered a local job hauling fuel which would be paid by the hour and time and a half after 40. The benefits are not quite what Averitts are but I would be home every day so either way I am leaving the dead end job where I am now...

Wow, funny how those things happen.
If I were in your situation, I would have to give the local job serious consideration.
The most important thing to consider is how long you thought it would last.
On the other side, Averitt will always be there. If you decided to try Averitt again later, at least you would have the experience by then and not have to worry about going through the extra training period.

I wish you had asked that a couple of weeks ago when this was open in your area.

Dedicated Driver - DCT Riviera Beach, FL
Drivers will return to domicile daily, no expected layovers. Driver will need to operate reefer trailers and dry vans. All lanes will require drop and hook at customer Warehouses and also live unload, some sort and segregate. We will handle backhaul loads and deliveries daily.

I looked the other day and it was gone. The best thing would be to get in touch with a recruiter. Sometimes they know of openings before they make it to the web site.

There is a big terminal in Sunrise, but I don't think they run any road trucks out of there.
Pretty sure that's all city LTL.
Most openings seem to pop up in Orlando and Tampa.
